YUCAIPA, Calif. — An 80-year-old Yucaipa woman has died from injuries sustained in a serious head-on collision at the intersection of Bryant Street and State Route 38. The San Bernardino County Medical Examiner identified the deceased as Linda Kaufman, who succumbed to her injuries at a hospital on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, four days after the crash. What Happened The collision occurred at approximately 12:28 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Bryant Street and State Route 38 in Yucaipa. According to investigators, a white Chevrolet Silverado and a gray Ford Explorer were involved in what appeared to be a head-on collision. The crash left vehicles blocking westbound Bryant Street. The Ford Explorer reportedly caught fire following the impact, with Kaufman, who was driving the vehicle, trapped inside. Good Samaritans attempted to help remove her from the burning vehicle before emergency personnel arrived. Three People Hospitalized Emergency crews transported three people to Loma Linda University Medical Center following the collision. Kaufman was critically injured and remained hospitalized until her death on July 29. The condition of the other two people involved has not been provided in the available information.
